Garda appeal for assistance in arson investigations

The Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for assistance from the public in relation to investigations into two suspected arson attacks in the city.

A spokesperson said members of the Gardaí's Waterford Crime unit are investigating two reports of suspected arson at a vacant property at 28 Ardmore Park , Ballybeg, Waterford City.

The first incident occurred on May 16, at approximately 3.50am.

The second incident occurred four days later, on May 20, at approximately 1.40am.

The spokesperson said: "The fire brigade were called and attended the scene and brought the fires under control."

The Gardaí are seeking any information that may assist the investigation and are asking residents in the area to check video doorbell, dashcam and CCTV footage and to contact the Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300 or the confidential line 1800 666 111.

The Gardaí are also encouraging people to report any suspected crimes by phoning 999/112 or their local Garda Station. 

"If you see something, say something," said the spokesperson.
