Gardaí in Waterford are investigating an incident where three sheep were killed in a suspected dog attack in Kilmacthomas.

A spokesperson for the gardaí in Waterford said the incident happened in Ballylaneen, Kilmacthomas, on Tuesday, May 27.

"These are distressing incidents for farmers and the other animals, and the onus is on the dog owners to ensure they have control of the animals at all times," said the spokesperson.

Gardaí are also urging hill walkers with dogs to please check with landowners and always keep their dogs under control.
