Fire Service issues safety alert following overturned trailer accident in Waterford

RING ROAD ACCIDENT
Waterford City Fire Service have issued a safety alert following an accident on the Outer Ring Road last week.
Crews recently responded to an overturned trailer incident in Waterford City on the Six Cross Roads Roundabout. The incident caused significant delays.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
A spokesperson from Waterford City Fire Service said that this serves as an important reminder for all drivers:
Secure Your Load: Always ensure your trailer is properly loaded and secured. Overloaded or uneven loads can cause instability.
Check Your Equipment: Inspect your trailer’s tires, lights, and hitch connections before every trip. Faulty equipment can lead to dangerous situations.
Drive Safely: Reduce your speed, especially around corners and during bad weather. Maintain a safe following distance and avoid sudden manoeuvres.
Stay Alert: Keep an eye on your trailer in your mirrors and listen for any unusual noises that might indicate a problem.
In a statement the spokesperson said: “Let’s work together to keep our roads safe! If you see an unsafe situation, report it immediately. Stay safe out there.”
Warnings have also been issued this week regarding a high volume of accidents that have taken place on the N25 this Summer.
