Fintan Drury explores international complicity in new book on the genocide in Palestine

Bestselling Irish author and commentator Fintan Drury will visit The Book Centre Waterford on Friday, June 24th to discuss his latest book, 'Genocide: Sponsoring the Destruction of Palestine', a detailed analysis of the international forces he argues have enabled Israel’s war on Gaza and the wider assault on Palestine.

The event comes shortly after the publication of the book on June 18th and will offer readers an opportunity to hear Drury speak about a genocide that has already generated significant discussion and uproar worldwide.

A follow-up to his bestselling 'Catastrophe: Nakba II', 'Genocide' explores what Drury describes as the political, military and economic support provided by Western powers that allowed Israel’s campaign in Gaza to continue. 

The author argues that accountability for the destruction of Palestine extends beyond Israel itself and includes those international governments and institutions that provided backing and protection.

Described by novelist Mary Costello as “urgent, unapologetic, and breathtaking in its knowledge and reach”, the 304-page book combines political analysis, legal examination and a detailed account of pivotal events in 2025.

Central to the book is Drury’s examination of October 13, 2025, the day when US President Donald Trump travelled to Israel and Egypt to unveil what was described as a “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict”.

The book also examines the relationship between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with Drury contending that personal and commercial interests influenced policy and decisions that transformed diplomacy into what he describes as a “wealth creation plan” for regional elites.

Drury’s Waterford appearance is expected to attract considerable interest from readers, political observers and those following developments in the Middle East.
