A special fundraising event will take place between Christmas and New Year in aid of a very worthwhile local organisation.
The fundraiser, a table quiz, will take place in Power's Bar in Dunmore East and is being organised in support of the local RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew.
There is great excitement building locally ahead of the annual Christmas Quiz which will take place on Monday, December 30, at 8pm.
The cost of participating in the event will be €40 per team of four.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: "The event will be open to teams of four and the quizmasters on the night will be Tom and David Ryan."
"It's a night you don't want to miss and don’t forget to tell your friends," he added, encouraging as many people as possible to go along on the night and give their support to the event.
"There will be a raffle on the night," he said.

The organisation was also very appreciative of the support given to another recent fundraising event that was held locally, in the St Joseph and St Benildus Parish Centre in Waterford.
The Cuppa and Comhrá group, based at the centre, nominated the RNLI branch as their chosen charity for December.
Angeline Broderick visited the lifeboat station to present the donation to the members on behalf of the group.
"It's donations like this that help us to save lives at sea," said the spokesperson.
