Cllr John Hearne praised the local authority for the work

A member of Waterford City & County Council has praised the work carried out by the local authority on a footpath in a busy area of the city.

In an online post Cllr John Hearne made reference to work carried out by Council workers on the car park at the Craftsman Pub.

"I delighted to get this project finished," said Cllr Hearne.

"For years the Craftsmen Pub car park has be full of potholes and excess water, so Gabriel Hynes' Council road works team have laid drainage pipes to take the excess water away," he added.

Cllr Hearne went on to acknowledge the professionalism of the work done: "It should solve the problem and the Council team refitted the area with a new path and bollards. Thanks lads a lovely job."
