Theatre practitioners across County Waterford and the wider Munster region are being invited to attend a consultation event coming up this month.

The consultation, which will take place in the Millenium Hall, in Cork City, is being organised by the Arts Council.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: "As part of an ongoing review into our approach to supporting the theatre sector, we are seeking insights from practitioners working in the industry."

Other consultations have taken place recently in Dublin, Sligo and Limerick.

The Cork session will take place on Wednesday, February 11, from 11am with the spokesperson commenting that it will be the fourth in a series of planned consultations based on feedback from a sector-wide survey undertaken earlier this year.

"In addition to these regional consultations, on the day the Arts Council Theatre team will host a general funding clinic on the opportunities available to theatre artists," said the spokesperson.
