Concern over rise in gruesome sheep attacks

Waterford Councillors are urging locals to keep dogs on a lead when walking in rural areas to avoid sheep attacks.
Speaking this week, Cllr Liam Brazil pointed to recent incidents in Kerry, in which a number of farmers were subjected to the deaths of livestock.
“Sheep have been attacked by dogs all over the country in the past few weeks. One farmer in Kerry had 40 sheep killed in one night. That’s some mess to see in the morning.
"Everyone thinks their own dog is only a little pet, but that little pet can turn into an awful animal. A dog is a killer, and no matter what dog it is, that dog will kill."
