Calls made to develop mountain bike facilities in Waterford

A local councillor has enquired about whether Waterford Council has looked at developing mountain biking trails or facilities in the county. Cllr Declan Clune, said that trails across Ireland have proven wildly popular in recent years.

"We have some of the best and most suitable areas for it here", he said.

Responding, Conor O’Neill, Waterford Council Senior Executive Engineer, said that developing facilities has been discussed previously by the Council, however such plans never materialised. He said that he would raise the matter again and query potential funding streams.
