The changes will improve services between Tramore and Dungarvan

TFI Local Link Waterford has announced plans to enhance bus services between Tramore and Dungarvan.

The new improved services will come into effect from Monday, August 19.

A spokesperson for TFI Local Link told Waterford News & Star the enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.

The improvements will see Route 367 operating four daily return services between Tramore and Dungarvan and the enhanced route will offer a new Sunday schedule and evening services, along with providing connectivity to regional bus services and to Davitt’s Quay.

The route will also improve connectivity to villages and areas such as Summerhill, Clairin Wood, Fenor, Annestown, Dunhill, Kill, Bunmahon, Stradbally and Ballinroad.

As part of the service enhancement into the evenings and weekend, fares on the 367 have been reviewed and have been uplifted to bring them into line with other TFI Local Link services, both in Co Waterford and across the State.

Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Waterford Manager, James O’Donoghue said: “As part of our ongoing commitment, in partnership with the NTA, to enhance public transport services in County Waterford I am delighted to announce the expansion of our Tramore to Dungarvan service."

“I am confident the addition of later evening services from Tramore and Dungarvan will be well supported by local communities along the route," he said.

"This is a significant enhancement of the service, which will now operate seven days per week including Bank Holidays.”
