Bridge linking Waterford to New Ross to close
The Rose Fitzgerald bridge opened in 2020.
Ireland's longest bridge, the Rose Kennedy Bridge, will be closed today from 8 pm to 4 am.
During this time, all traffic will be diverted through New Ross town.
The bridge links Waterford to New Ross.
Throughought the day there will be no diversions, however traffic will be limited to one lane, both westbound and eastbound, between the hours of 7.30 am and 3.30 pm.
Essential works at Pier Four began on May 25 after it was discovered not enough concrete was poured the first time around.
It is understood that the bridge is entirely safe and these repairs are minor.
The works are scheduled to continue over three weeks and are expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 10.
