Bono pays visit to popular Dungarvan pub

U2 singer Bono and his wife Allison Hewson paid a visit to Downey’s bar in Dungarvan on Monday, October 21.
The pub is owned by friend of Bono, John McGrath.
The frontman was in Waterford over the weekend to celebrate the 60th birthday of Morleigh Steinberg, wife of bandmate, The Edge.
The celebrations took place in Lismore Castle.
Before heading back to Dublin on Monday, Bono and Ali called into Downey's.
The pub posted a message on Facebook commenting: “A surprise visit by Bono and Ali, they called to Downey's Bar after visiting the grave of their late Tour Manager, Dennis Sheehan. They were on their way home from Lismore Castle after celebrating Edge's wife, Morleigh's 60th Birthday party.”
Mr Sheehan is buried in in St Mary’s Church, Dungarvan, and was on the road with U2 for over 30 years, prior to his death in 2015.
