Minister of State for Planning & Local Government, John Cummins TD (Fine Gael) said: “This is great news for Kilmacthomas. I’m delighted to confirm that having worked extensively alongside officials in my Department and Waterford City & County Council, that funding has been approved for these much-needed social homes. I know this news will be welcomed by the entire community in Kilmacthomas and I would like to thank my Fine Gael colleagues, Cllr. Liam Brazil and Cllr. Seanie Power, who have also extensively engaged with me to help bring this project to fruition.

He continued: "Budget 2027 has provided €3billion for social housing delivery across the country, including 12,000 new build social homes. As a Minister in the Department, I am committed to ensuring that those most impacted by the housing crisis are supported directly and effectively. Boosting housing supply isn’t just about quantity; it’s about ensuring every community gets the homes it needs.
