Two very special Mass will be celebrated in Waterford City next month.

As part of the year-long programme of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ballybeg estate a Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated in St Saviour's Church on Wednesday, September 24, at 11am.

In particular the Mass will be aimed at all those involved or connected to St Saviour's National School over the last 50 years, however, everyone across Waterford is welcome to attend.

On Sunday, September 28, at 11am, there will be a special mass to celebrate 50 years of the estate itself.

Ahead of the Mass those involved in organising events throughout the year are asking all the clubs in the area to be represented including St Saviour's GAA, St Saviour's FC, Southend FC, Waterford Crystal FC, Waterford Rugby Club, Saviour's Crystal boxing club, in addition to Brill, Cill Barra Community Sports Club and, 1st Steps Creche and former residents. 

There will be a special remembrance of all residents and volunteers who have died over the last 50 years at the Mass.
