Waterford City and County Council are appealing to the public for information on slurry dumping near the Glennafalla River.
The agricultural slurry was discovered dumped 1.5km north of Mount Melleray along the L5051 Tooranaraheen Road.
Agricultural Inspector with Waterford City and County Council Adam James dumping like this has a serious impact on water quality.

“The slurry was dumped within metres of the riverbank and would inevitably impact water quality in the river. The Glennafalla is a high-status objective water body, which is among the most sensitive river habitats to pollution of this kind,” said Mr James.

Waterford City and County Council is asking anyone with information, or dashcam footage of the incident to contact the Environment Section in Waterford City and County Council on 0818 10 20 20 or email contact@waterfordcouncil.ie.
