A glimpse into Stradbally's past

Here’s a photo giving a glimpse into the past within the Stradbally area.

Kindly submitted to Waterford News & Star by Stradbally Photographic Archive, the photo which was submitted to the archive by Paddy Joe Carey dates back to 1978.

It shows Mr Carey’s grandfather, Paudo Carey, along with Lena Hennessy.

A spokesperson for Stradbally Photographic Archive said the photo was taken on the occasion of the wedding of Nell Organ and Patto Flynn.

Ray Power, of Williamstown took the photo and it was taken just inside the main gate of the church. People from the area will be familiar with Paddy Lannon's garage in the background.

Meanwhile, the Archive spokesperson said the children on the wall were identified as being: Ann Power, of Carrigcastle (left) and Brigid Lenihan, of Ballinabanogue.
