Gardaí are looking to identify two youths in relation to the incident.

Gardaí are investigating three incidents that occurred in the Tramore area recently, one of which was a serious assault.

Serious assault

On Saturday, May 11, a man in his 30s was attacked at the railway station bus stop where he sustained a head and neck injury as a result of the altercation. 

The man was taken to University Hospital Waterford by ambulance to be treated for his injuries. 

The assault occurred that Saturday night between 11.10pm and 11.30pm, while there were a number of people waiting for the 360 bus to Waterford. 

Gardaí are looking to identify two youths, one of whom was black and the second was white, who are believed to be connected to the incident.

Criminal damage

Separately, on the bank holiday Monday, May 6, the railway station was reportedly damaged. Gardaí are investigating further but believe the culprits to be a number of youths. 

This incident occurred at approximately 10pm. 

The third incident in which Gardaí are appealing to witnesses for information occurred two days after the station was damaged. 

On Wednesday, May 8, an incident of criminal damage was reported at the Riverstown store. 

A drainpipe and bin were set alight in the early hours of the morning, between 1.30am and 2.15am.
