Man (40s) in critical condition after crash in Co Clare

A man is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle crash at Bodyke, Co Clare, on Sunday night.

The crash occurred on the R352 at around 11:40 pm.

The single occupant of the car, a man in his 40s, was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road is currently closed with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the area of the R352 at Ballynahinch, Bodyke, between 11:00pm and midnight on Sunday are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
