A young man charged with possessing cocaine and heroin, and dangerous driving in Dublin, has been remanded in custody pending directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Richard Adeleke, 18, of Thornwood, Beaumont, Dublin 9, was arrested on Wednesday and brought to Store Street Garda Station.

On Thursday evening, he was charged with six offences and was held pending his appearance before Judge Michele Finan.

He is accused of dangerous driving on November 5th at North Strand Road, Dublin 1, and unlawfully possessing drugs and having them for sale or supply on the same date at Thornwood estate, Dublin 9, and dangerous driving at another location on July 15.

The value of the alleged drug seizure was not stated.

Garda Kieran Stapleton, who is objecting to bail, told the court that Mr Adeleke “made no reply” when charged. Defence solicitor Conor Ruane said his client was not applying for bail at this stage.

Judge Finan remanded the teenager, who did not address the court, in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday for a bail hearing.

He has yet to enter a plea to the Misuse of Drugs Act and the Road Traffic Act charges.
