A new Petanque group has formed in County Waterford and is welcoming new members.

The Tramore Petanque Group is a newly established group of people who love playing boules. They play on Saturdays, around 11am, beside the Majestic Hotel Carpark in the town.

Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed.

Petanque and boules are two different names for the same game. In French, the word 'boule' means 'ball' and in France people often refer to the game simply as boules.

Outside of France the game is usually referred to as 'Petanque'.
