Dunmore East RNLI charity swim returns

The annual Dunmore East RNLI Open Water Swim is returning on Sunday, June 2, raising vital funds for the essential work of the RNLI.

Over 350 swimmers are due to brave the Celtic Sea across three different categories, the challenging 1600 metre coastal swim, optional 800 metre swim, and the junior 500 metre event.

Welcoming the 2024 swim, Margaret Barry, Chairperson of Dunmore East RNLI fundraising branch, said, “Building upon the momentum of the previous year, the 2024 Dunmore East RNLI Open Water Swim promises to be an unforgettable experience, uniting swimmers of all levels in support of the important work carried out by the RNLI.”

Safety is the utmost priority at the event, with a dedicated team of expert kayakers and safety boats to escort the swimmers.
