Sympathies

It is with deep and sincere regret we record the death of Mary Kelly (nee: Fardy), Blackthorn Hill, Ferrybank and formerly of Ballybeg Park and Slievekeale, who died on Friday, February 14, following a short illness surrounded by her loving family. Her remains lay in repose at Thompson's funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, with vigil prayers and rosary. Her remains were removed from Thompson's Funeral Home on Sunday, February 16, to St Saviour's Church where they were received by Fr Robert Grant PP, followed by Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr Robert Grant PP. Burial took place in Butlerstown Cemetery immediately after mass. Her family brought gifts to the altar which were part of Mary's life. The readings and the prayers of the faithful were read by family members. The soloist was Brian McCarthy with Barry Murphy, organist and assisted by St Saviour's Church choir. Mary’s son Ray and her granddaughter gave a lovely few words about Mary's life and how much she loved her family and grandchildren, at the end of Mass. She was a lovely neighbour and was always walking with the grandchildren in the buggy. She was loving mother and grandmother. Mary always loved a chat, and she had a great sense of humour, she was always smiling. She was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband John. She was well known and liked in Ballybeg where she lived for over 40 years which was shown by the huge cortege at her removal, requiem mass and burial. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Predeceased by her husband John, she is survived by her son Ray, daughter Janet, daughter-in-law Rose, son-in-law Pat, her loving grandchildren Molly, Abbey, Rachel and Annabelle, her sister Peggy, her brothers Eddie, Nicholas, Micheal and Oliver sisters-in-law nieces nephews extended family relatives neighbours and friends to whom we offer our deepest sympathy.
