Local Notes: Stradbally Market, age friendly awards and tidy towns news

Stradbally Market offers people a wide variety of locally produced items
Congratulations to Evan Drohan, Monavaud, Stradbally on winning his age category in the Hook or by Crook Dunmore East 2024 Triathlon on Saturday, June 8, in an event that has over 200 competitors including 30 relay teams. Evan is a member of the Tried and Tested Triathlon Club from Dungarvan.
Age Friendly Ireland is thrilled to announce that they are now open for applications to the National Age Friendly Recognition & Achievement Awards 2024.
For more information please visit their website. The closing date for applications is June 28.
With a cold wind whipping around the square, the market was back inside again last Saturday. It was more like November than June.
The stalls at the Cove Bar were filled with a great range of fresh fruit and vegetables, homebaked products, jams and juices while shoppers also enjoyed tea and scones and lively banter. Each week you can pre-order any product on sale by calling Margaret on 087 6337215 or just drop by and pick up.
Just a reminder that we expect the Super Valu National Tidy Towns Judges to visit any day now that the elections are over. We ask everyone to be mindful about litter and tidiness as the local committee crosses all the 't's and dots the 'i's in preparation.
Best of luck to all our neighbours who are preparing also.
