Social dancing is proving as popular as ever in Kill

Kill Lotto 

There was no winner for this week’s lotto so it rolls over until next week with a jackpot of €2,550. The lucky numbers pulled were 4, 11, 14 and 16. Congrats to Margaret Ahern and Michelle Power who were the lucky dip winners.

Community Text Alert

The Community Text Alert Service is still ongoing and open to any member of the public to join. Some messages that the group send out include notifications from the Gardaí, Met Eireann and others which help to keep the community informed. If you would like to join the text service, please contact Kill Action Group on 086 3772945.

Senior Alert Scheme

Kill Action Group is a registered provider for the Senior Alert Scheme which provides a personal monitored alarm for those aged 65 and over, living alone or with another person who meets the eligibility criteria and residing within the area. The alarm can be worn as a pendant or on the wrist like a watch and when pressed a call is sent to a 24-hour monitoring centre. The equipment is free however there is a fee for monitoring the alarm. Either a landline, mobile phone or broadband connection is required to install and connect the alarm.

Gealach Gorm Theatre

Thanks to all who attended The Very Men in concert at Gealach Gorm Theatre on Sunday, August 25. All in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the evening of music by the very talented musicians: Brian Donovan, John Nugent, Brendan Clancy and Mick McAuley. All proceeds will go to funding cost of 2024 Mental Health and Drug Awareness Conversation Seminars at Kill Community Centre. Thank you once again for the support.

Social Dancing

Last week, Michael Collins entertained a fantastic crowd at Wednesday night dancing in Kill Community Centre. A firm favourite the dancefloor was full all night. This week Philip English will perform on Wednesday, August 28, will take to the stage at Kill so mark the date in your diary with dancing from 9pm to 11.30pm. Complementary tea, coffee and sweet treat so come and join in the fun.

Last week, Bernie Heaney entertained all in attendance at Kill Community Centre. Everyone enjoyed the great atmosphere and danced away the afternoon. Next to take to the stage is Andy Feery, on September 1. Social dancing begins at 3pm and finishes at 6pm.

The confidential telephone support line of Kill Community Support Group (KCSG), supported By Kill Community Centre, can be accessed at 087 7150608. The mission of the KCSG is to ensure that every member of our community has access to support if they are overwhelmed by any situation, they may find themselves in. The telephone support line is a confidential service open to anyone in the local area. Perhaps you or someone you know is struggling with day-to-day life and are continually feeling overwhelmed or isolated? There is support available in your local community.
