We are asking people to be very vigilant and to keep a look out for their neighbours, as there was a recent attempted break in at a house in the Ballinamult area at 6.10pm. The vehicle was a 'D' reg, Blue Ford focus with three occupants wearing hoodies/masks/baseball caps. Please report any suspicious behaviour to the Gardaí in Dungarvan at 058 48600.
We extend our sympathy to the Coyne family on the recent passing of Michael Coyne, Boolahallagh, Newcastle. Michael was predeceased by his brother Patsy Coyne, sisters Mary Rowe, Annie Dooney, Bridie Hourihan, Ellen Hickey, Kathleen O’Connor and father-in-law John Connolly. We extend our sincere sympathy to his wife Catherine (née: Guiry), daughters Mary Catherine Cleary, Helen Coyne, Breda Connolly and Triona Griffin, sons David, John and Michael, sons-in-law Seamus Cleary and Patrick Griffin, daughters-in-law Cora, Marie and Mags, grandchildren Róisín, Patrick, Michael, David, Séan, Niamh, Chloe, Patrick, Ella, Kate, David, Carmel, Danny and Michael, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Funeral mass was in Our Lady Of Assumption Church, Newcastle followed by burial in New Mollough Cemetery. May Michael rest in peace.
Sliabh gCua Set Club dancing classes will resume on Friday, Septeber 20. The beginners to 2nd class dancing lessons will be from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and 3rd to 6th class dancing lessons will be from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Secondary school classes will be from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Josie was predeceased by her husband Jerry and her brother Bill. We extend our sincere sympathy to her sons, daughters, (Liz Condon and family Boolavounteen, Ballinamult), daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, brothers Rodge Ryan-Rue, Doon and Mike Ryan-Rue Drom, sisters Mary O’Brien, Murroe and Sally Daly, England, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, nephews-in-law, nieces-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends. May Josie rest in peace.
The lotto jackpot held out for another week and the jackpot draw next Sunday night will be for €1,800. This week’s numbers were 10, 20, 23 and the five x €20 winners were Teresa Cliffe, Dean Carroll, Thomas Keane, Tomás & Brian Lonergan and Patricia Foley. The Panda Playground Committee would love you all to join us on Saturday, September 14, to mark the official opening of our new playground facility. We will host a free family event from 12noon to 3pm with free face-painting, games, ice creams for all the kids, and a coffee van for the parents to enjoy refreshments.
