Bereavement 

The death sadly occurred on Sunday, July 28, of Mrs Lucy Webb, John’s College, The Folly, Waterford, and formerly of Bolton Street, Waterford. 

Predeceased by her loving son James, her soulmate Maggie (Margaret) (Webb), her parents Bob (Webb) and Mary (Roysten), her brother Tom (Webb) and sister Lil (Barnswell), she is survived by her loving children Annette, Henry, Derek, Maggie, Diana, Dexter, Denise, Pamela, her grandchildren Megan, Sean, Aaron, Angel, JJ, Sophie, Helen, Hannah, Sabrina, Darren, Jack, Maggie, Mollie, Lillie, Shane, Stephanie, April, Caoimhe, Liam, Bobby and Tommy, great-grandchildren Donnacha and Kayleigh, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Lucy will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Requiem Mass took place on Wednesday, July 31, in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly at 10am followed by cremation on Thursday at 2pm. Condolences are extended to Lucy's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Sacred Heart Church

Be Healed Retreat

A 'Be Healed' Retreat will run from Friday, August 30, at 9am until 3.30pm on Sunday, September 1. It will take place at Glencomeragh House, Kilsheelan, Co Tipperary (E91H584), and will be led by Fr Patrick Cahill. 

There will be daily Mass, Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, themed talks, reflection time, prayer ministry, confessions and a Healing Service on Saturday night with anointing of the sick blessing. Relics of St. Bernadette 

A very special event will take place in the Diocese on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17 and 18. The relics of St Bernadette will visit the Diocese and a programme of events will be held in the Cathedral of the most Holy Trinity over the two. days. More details to follow.

Butler Community Centre

Friendly Mascots Ireland, back by popular demand, will return for another magical family fun show on August 10, from 3pm to 5pm, at Butler Community Centre, St John’s Park.

Charity Bingo

Bingo in aid of the Parkinson's Association is held every Monday evening in the Butler Community Centre. Eyes down at 7.45pm and the cost of participating is €8 per book. All are welcome.

Learn Spanish

Learn Spanish at Butler Community Centre, St John's Park, Waterford every Tuesday. The classes will take place as follows: Adult Beginners from 1pm to 2.30pm; Children under 10 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm; Children under 12 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm; Adults Beginners and Elementary from 5.30pm to 7pm. Whist Club

The Whist Club takes place at the Butler Centre, St. John's Park, on Tuesday’s at 7.30pm. 

They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome. The cost will be €5 per person. 

Warrior's Junior Foroige

Warrior's Junior Foroige Club are looking for new members, boys and girls aged between 10 to 12 years of age.

We meet in Butler Community Centre every Thursday night at 7pm to 8 pm. The Foróige Club is a place for young people to hang out, meet new friends, get involved in activities and have a voice. Limited places available.

Parent Hub

Are you a new mum or have you just had a baby? HSE Ireland have established a post-natal for both mum and baby. 

It's a space for you and your baby to come to access supports from a HSE midwives, paediatrician, lactation consultant, woman's health physio, Perinatal Mental Health midwife along with one of the most important things for a new mum, a connection to other new mothers who have also welcomed a new arrival and may be looking to connect with other mums for support. The sessions take place on Wednesdays from 9am to 11am. 

The sessions take place in the Brill Family Resource Centre, and feel free drop in anytime between 9am to 11am or you can text or call Grace beforehand on 087 1819413.

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, Waterford and Tesco Ireland, have teamed up with Tesco Ireland for the Stronger Starts Programme  during the summer months to help provide families in need with donations of non-perishable food. 

There will be a trolley placed in Tesco Tramore and Tesco Poleberry for all your kind donations which we will distribute to those in need. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far we really appreciate it. Keep an eye out for the trolley and if you can please feel free to add whatever you can.

Creative Writing

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, Waterford would love you to join us for our Creative Writing Programme which will be starting on Thursday, September 12, for 10 weeks. The sessions take place from 11am to 1pm. The programme will be free to attend and will be funded by WWETB Adult & Community Education, facilitated by writer and musician, Derek Flynn. The Shy Project

The Volunteer Homework Club at the Shy Project, Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service, are seeking volunteers who will have one or two hours to commit weekly, to join their Homework Club. The club offers homework support for primary school boys on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. This is an opportunity to develop relationships with the younger generation in your community and make a positive impact on their lives.
