Late Francis Geraghty

The death sadly occurred on Sunday, September 22, of Francis Geraghty, 5 Kilcohan Park, and formerly of John’s Hill, Waterford and Woodstown, Co. Waterford. 

Predeceased by his loving parents Jimmy and Mary Geraghty, he is survived by his loving and heartbroken partner Lorraine Freeman, his children Kiara Geraghty, Craig, Graham, Garreth and Gordon McCarthy, their partners and wives Willy, Fiona, Anna, Helen and Jackie, his adoring grandchildren Jaxon, Cara, Ryan, Háodha, Chloe, Bradley, Gary, Cian, Josh, Róisín and Sadhbh and great-granddaughter Fiah. 

He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Conor, Brian, Seamus, Bernard, and Michael, sisters Bridget and Betty, their wives, partners and husbands, his nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Requiem Mass took place on Wednesday, September 25, at 11:30am in The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly. Francis was laid to rest in St Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner. Condolences are extended to Francis' family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Late Eileen Malone

The death sadly occurred on Saturday, September 21, of Eileen Malone née Dunphy, Pearse Park, Waterford. Predeceased by her loving husband Peter and son George, she is survived by her loving sister-in-law Breda, nieces Deirdre, Ashling, Sinead, Brefini, Caroline, nephews, Thomas, Colin, Alan, Noel, Gavin, Eric and the Malone family. Eileen will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family and friends. 

Eileen’s celebration of life took place on Wednesday, September 25, at 1pm in Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, followed by burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery, Ballnaneashagh, Waterford. 

Condolences are extended to Eileen's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Late Johnny Walker

The death sadly occurred on Saturday, September 21, of John (Johnny) Walker, Lower Grange, Waterford, formerly of Doyle Street and late of the Irish Army. He is survived and sadly missed by his loving twin brother Gerald (Gerry), extended family Margaret, Jimmy, Aaron, Ross, James and Rachel, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, September 26, in Ballybricken Church for Mass at 10.30am followed by private cremation.

Condolences are extended to John's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Late Patrick McLawrence

The death sadly occurred on Wednesday, September 25, of Patrick (Paddy) McLawrence, Ballytruckle Court, Waterford and formerly of Congress Place. Predeceased by his loving parents Sarah and James, brother Tommy and sister Phyllis, he is survived by his loving wife Ann, daughters Sarah and Melissa, sons Patrick and Mark, son-in-law David, grandchildren Megan, Chloe, Patrick, Stephen, Kathleen, Abbie, Emilia and Sean, sister Bernie, brother-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law Bridie and Maria, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours, and friends. 

Requiem Mass took place on Saturday, September 28, in Ballybricken Church at 10.30am followed by burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery. Condolences are extended to Paddy's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

This service is available at the Pastoral Centre, John’s Hill, Waterford where you can talk in confidence to a trained listener / counsellor. Butler Community Centre

Warrior's Junior Foróige Club are looking for new members aged between 10 to 12. We meet in the Butler Community Centre every Thursday night from 7 to 8pm. Pool, games, music and pizza. Contact David 087 6542297 for more information

Outrage Foróige Club are also open for new members, from all across Waterford. They meet every Thursday from 8pm - 9:30pm in the Butler Community Centre for ages 13 plus. Teenage Disco 

Halloween Disco Rev is delighted to announce Waterford city’s first teenage disco since Covid, which will take place on Monday, October 28, at Bulter Community Centre. Fancy dress optional, cash prize on the night for best dressed. Doors: 7.30pm-10.30pm for 1st - 3rd Year. Tickets: €20

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre are running a free Parents Plus Programme for parents of children aged 0-7 years of age, starting October 2 from 10am-12.30pm, one morning a week. If you would like to reduce your stress as a parent and build your child's confidence, learning and positive behaviour then why not come along to this programme.
