Parent And Toddler Group

The Touraneena Parent and Toddler Group will resume on Wednesday, November 5, at 12 noon in the Community Centre. All are welcome to come along and have a cuppa, biscuits and a chat while the children interact and play. If you would like more information contact Regina Carroll on 087 2800724.

Sliabh gCua Lotto

No winner for last week’s jackpot. The jackpot numbers were 11, 23,27. The 5 x €20 winners Sarah Gleeson, Sharon Cliffe, Jimmy Coffey, Aoife Morrisson and Jim Brophy. The promoter’s prize was won by Dunne’s Bar. Next week’s jackpot is €700.

Touraneena Runner’s Club

Well done to Sinead who was the winner of Week 5 of our 'Predict Your Time' League and to Hazel who was our lucky dip winner. Thanks to our sponsors Johnny McGrath, Beary’s Cross Shop and JJ Moore Vale Oil. There was no league last Monday night due to the bank holiday.

We are looking forward to seeing another great turnout next Monday night for Week 6 which is the last night of our league. It takes place at 7pm at Kirwan Park, and a hi-vis and torch are required.

St. Mary’s National School

The Parent’s Council will be holding their annual table quiz in the Sliabh gCua Community Centre on Friday, November 14, at 7.30pm. All pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th class are welcome to come along. There will be a raffle and lots of prizes on the night. If you would like more information, please contact 087 6214315.

Nire Valley Christmas Fair 

The annual Nire Valley Christmas Fair will be held this year on Sunday, December 7, from 2 to 5pm in the Nire Hall. Santa will be arriving at 4pm. So please come along and avail of the beautiful Christmas gift options that will be on sale on the day.

Ballymacarbry Tidy Town

Huge congratulations to the Ballymacarbry Tidy Towns Committee who after many years, achieved the elusive gold standard at the Tidy Towns National Awards Ceremony held recently in the Hogan Suite, Croke Park. Well done to everyone for their contributions towards this massive achievement for their community, most especially all the volunteers who work tirelessly to better their area in which they work, rest and play.
