There are lots of events happening in Stradbally
Active Retirement Citizens Information personnel attended a gathering to give a presentation on 'Entitlements, Benefits and the Fair Deal scheme', after the recent budget. We have an open door for this gathering, you don't need to be a member to attend. In the meantime, keep warm and dry, stay safe and keep in touch. A used clothes collection will take place on Monday, November 10, in aid of Our Lady of Mercy National School. The following items will be accepted: clothing and shoes, handbags, hats, scarves, ties, belts, bags, and jewellery. Items that can not be accepted include duvets, pillows, cushions, bedding, curtains, towels, teddies, carpets, rugs, soiled clothing, and school uniforms with a crest. Bags can be dropped off at the school on or before Monday, November 10. The event is organised by Our Lady of Mercy N.S. Parents Association.
For the past 10 years, the Barron Hall Committee has launched an annual calendar to help raise funds that keep our community hall running. The calendar highlights local businesses and enterprises and is distributed free of charge throughout the community. It’s a fantastic way for local businesses to advertise while providing a handy and practical resource for residents.
With many visitors around, the market was quite busy on Saturday. The producers never fail to deliver the best of fresh vegetables, jam, lemon curd, marmalade, relish, eggs, home baking, bread, tarts, and buns. As promised, Colette launched her 2026 Stradbally Calendar, which is an ideal stocking filler for Christmas or a present for those living abroad. The calendars were flying out the door and were greeted with great enthusiasm.
They are also for sale at the XL Store in Stradbally. As mentioned last week, there is a limited number of Calendars available, so get your copy as soon as possible. You can preorder any product for sale at the market by calling Margaret on 087 6337215. The producers will be back in the Cove Bar at 10am, next Saturday with the best of local food.
