Mass in Killea Church will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, at 7.30pm, Friday, August 7, at 9.30am and Sunday, August 9, at 9.30am. Mass in Carbally Church takes place every Sunday at 11am. The Society of St Vincent de Paul will hold its monthly collection at all Masses on August 8 and 9.
The Waterford and Lismore Diocesan Youth Fundraiser Golf Classic will take place on Monday, September 7, at Faithlegg Golf Club. Each parish is invited to enter a team. The event will be played as a teams-of-three Champagne Scramble and includes a meal. Shotgun starts will take place at 9am and 2pm, with excellent prizes on offer. Entry costs €240 per team. Dunmore East will welcome a number of cruise ships over the coming weeks. The Norwegian Sky arrives on Friday, August 7, at 7am and departs at 4pm carrying 2,004 passengers. The Ocean Vista follows on Saturday, August 8, arriving at 7am and departing at 5pm with 1,200 passengers. The Asmara Queen arrives on Sunday, August 9, at 8am and departs at 8pm carrying 698 passengers. The Seven Seas Voyager is scheduled to visit on Monday, August 10, arriving at 8am and departing at 8pm with 708 passengers on board. The Star Legend will also call to Dunmore East on Sunday, August 16, arriving at 8am and departing at 5pm carrying 312 passengers.
The Dunmore East Community Day will take place in the Park on Thursday, August 6, from 1pm to 4pm. Hosted by Vintage Vibes, the afternoon will feature music, fun and games. Those attending are asked to bring their own picnic. There will also be a hat competition for adults and children with prizes on offer.
A final reminder has been issued for the inaugural Boat Rock Ballymacaw Big Swim, which takes place on Saturday, August 8. Participants can choose between a 350m swim and a 750m swim. Entry costs €30 and participants must be aged 16 or over. The fully supervised open-water event will raise funds for the development of Carbally Community Centre. Wetsuits are optional and organisers are looking forward to a fantastic day of swimming, community spirit and coastal adventure.
