Stradbally Market

The north west wind sent the producers back inside the Cove Bar for the market again recently. There was a great selection of fresh produce to choose from, fruit, vegetables, home-baking, jams, marmalade, relish, fancy buns, also cards, bookmarks and prints for occasions.

Knitwear and apple juice. You can preorder any of the above by calling Margaret on 087 6337215, just drop by and pick up. You can also enjoy a nice cup of tea and scones and catch up with the locals. Weather permitting the market will be back outside next Saturday from 10am.

Stradbally Photographic Archive: This week's photo, courtesy of Noel Crowley, was taken at the back of Stradbally Church of Ireland church in summertime. We don't have a date but it could have been taken in the 1930s or 1940s. The headstone in the foreground is that of Moore's of Carriganna; behind it is Higginbotham's. If you have any information, queries or photos - especially photos - we'd be delighted to hear from you. Contact Tom Hickey - 087 9386209 - or Christine King - christinebennettking@gmail.com
