Irish dance classes take place in Stradbally
It is with sadness we record the death of Mary Bartlitz (née: Hogan), Ballyvoile, Stradbally, Co.Waterford and formerly of Handforth Road, London, who died on Thursday, August 29. Mary was predeceased by parents Michael and Helena Hogan and her husband George Bartlitz and is deeply mourned by her loving brother Tone Hogan, her brother-in-law Boucy, her sisters Agnes and Kitty, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Mary lay in repose at her residence on Friday, August 30 from 5pm to 7pm where family, friends and neighbours came to pay their respects.
Mary's funeral mass was celebrated by Fr Edmond Cullinan PP, Stradbally, at Holy Cross Church on Saturday, August 31 at 11am. The hymns and music during the mass were provided by by Robert Weldon. At the beginning of Mass symbols of Mary's life were brought to the altar by Margaret and Mandy. The Readers of the Liturgy were Susan Swalwell and Nancy Gaye. Her sisters Kitty and Agnes brought the gifts of bread and wine to the altar for the Offertory. Following Communion her niece Helena Hogan gave a fitting Eulogy telling the congregation of Mary's journey as a young girl from Ballyvoile to London, to work in hospitality, as a very caring person who loved looking after people. There Mary met her husband George, who came from Poland, to whom she was happily married to for 50 years. Following the funeral mass and graveside prayers Mary was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mary's brother Tone Hogan, her sisters Agnes and Kitty, brother-in-law Boucy, nieces, Helena, Kitty, Liz, Nancy, Susan, Margaret, Mandy and Helen, nephews, Anthony, Leonard, Mike, Paul, Eugene, John, Michael, Martin Eric, Philip, Gérard extended family neighbours and friends.
Irish dance classes resumed on September 2 at Stradbally GAA Centre, at 6.30pm. To register phone 086 8799739.
