There was a large turnout for the Blessing at Knights Templar graveyard on Saturday, September 14. Present were the Mayor Cllr Jason Murphy, Cllr John Hearne, Archaeologist Thomas Desmond and Mons Pat Fitzgerald, who referred to the graveyard as hallowed ground where the ancient meets the modern. The project was a joint coming together of volunteers who work at restoring the graveyard and have now created a beautiful tranquil and peaceful place in our area. The volunteers raised the funds themselves to restore the graveyard and great credit must go to paddy Houlihan and his late granddaughter Katie who were instrumental in getting the project started.
