Bereavement 

The death has sadly occurred on Sunday, December 14, of Mr Kevin McEvoy, Castle View, Williamstown Road, Waterford, formerly of McDonagh Road, Kingsmeadow, Waterford and late of Irish Rail.

Predeceased by his loving parents, Denny and Kitty. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, children, Dale, Sienna and Kalon. brothers Brendan and Max (Eugene), Dale's partner Vanessa, his grandchildren Mason and Logan, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and friends. 

Kevin will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Requiem Mass took place on Friday, December 19, in St. Mary's Church, Ballygunner, Waterford, at 12pm, followed by burial in the Adjoining Cemetery. 

Condolences are extended to Kevin's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bereavement 

The death has sadly occurred on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, of Mrs Olivia Hearne, Summerville Avenue, Waterford City, Waterford / Passage East, Waterford.

Late of Summerville Avenue and Drumrusk, Passage East, Co. Waterford. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, children, Isla and Beatrice. Will be sadly missed by her mother Ann, father Jim, sister Catherine, brother Richard, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Olivia will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends.

As per Olivia's wishes, a Private Funeral will take place. Condolences are extended to Olivia’s family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Christmas in Benildus Concert 

Christmas in Benildus Concert Celebrate the season with us on Monday, December 22, at 7:30 pm in St. Joseph & St. Benildus Church (doors open at 7pm). 

Tickets are €20 and can be purchased from the Parish Office or by contacting Phyllis O’Shea at 087-9293553. 

Come along for an evening of music, poetry, readings, and Christmas cheer!

Raffle at Christmas in Benildus Concert 

Raffle at Christmas in Benildus Concert Hampers valued at €100 each will be raffled at the Christmas in Benildus Concert on Monday, December 22. 

Raffle tickets can be purchased before the concert, during the interval, or in advance from the Parish Office. 

Tickets cost €5 for one strip, €10 for three strips, or €20 for eight strips. 

Each hamper is beautifully packed with festive treats, including Botter Prosecco, Botter Chardonnay, Don Aparo Malbec, Porta Blanco, Porta Red, Vicenzi Voglie, Butlers chocolates, McVities Victoria, McVities Santa Snacks, Roses Tub, and Snowy Fingers.

Christmas Day Dinner 

The annual Christmas Day dinner for those in need, under the auspices of the Knights of St. Columbanus, will take place as usual, at 12:30pm on Christmas Day at St. Joseph’s School, Parnell Street, Waterford. 

This function has now been running without a break for well over 80 years. 

Anyone, particularly those who are far from home who would not otherwise enjoy a Christmas dinner on that day are very welcome - just turn up at 12:30pm. 

The dinner is completely free to all attending.

The Solas Men’s Hub is a new monthly activity-based group for men living with a cancer diagnosis. 

Join a group of men who understand what you’re going through. Our group offers connection and support through shared activities. 

Gentle group activities once a month - gentle sporting activities, games, visits to places of interest. Peer support from men who’ve been there, relaxed, friendly meet ups.
