Local Notes: John Perk's cafe brews up something special, while whist slot changes at Butler Centre

The death has sadly occurred on Tuesday, September 30, of Mr. Eugene Long, Laurel Court, Cherrymount, Waterford. Formerly of Beechwood Ave., John's Park, Waterford. Late of Copper Hen, Tramore, predeceased by his parents Michael and Stella Long and his loving partner Linda Griffin. He is survived by his brothers Michael, Ken and Colm, sisters Geraldine and Helena, sister-in-law Jennie, close friend Keith, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Eugene will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, October 2, in Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, at 12.00 noon, followed by cremation in the Island Crematorium, Cork, on Friday. Condolences are extended to Eugene's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

The Children’s Liturgy group resumed last Sunday and will continue each Sunday at the 11:30am Mass. It was lovely to see so many return and to see some new faces also. New members are always welcome.
Mass of Installation of the First Class Relic on the Feast of St. Carlo Acutis, Sunday, October 12, at 12:00pm in the Holy Family Church, Ardfinnan, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan. All are welcome.

Whist Club (card game) at the Butler Centre, St. John's Park, is changed to Wednesdays at 7pm -9pm. They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome. €5 per person, all new members welcome.
