Bereavement 

The death has sadly occurred on Saturday, October 18, 2025, of Mrs. Theresa Colfer, nee Hayes, Larchville, Waterford.

Formerly of St John’s Park, Waterford. Predeceased by her loving husband Noel, grandson Conor and brother Maurice. She is survived by her loving sons Alan, David and Neil, daughters Jean and Miriam, grandchildren Ciara, Cillian, Laura, Sam, Alex, James, Art and Meabh, sons-in-law Mark and Mark, daughter-in-law Suzanne, her sisters Mary, Jo and Helen, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Theresa will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass took place on Tuesday, October 21, at 12pm in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Butlerstown, followed by burial in the Adjoining Cemetery.

Condolences are extended to Theresa's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Whist Club

Whist Club (card game) at the Butler Center, St. John's Park, has changed to Wednesdays at 7pm -9pm. 

They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome €5 per person, all new members welcome.

Golden Girls aerobics Fitness in Butlers Community Hall €6 pay-as-you-go on Mondays from 10.15am – 11am.

Circuit training

Class combines very gentle mat Pilates exercises for over 50’s who want to develop core strength, find relief from tight muscles and back pain.

Warrior's Junior Foróige 

The club is looking for new members aged between 10 to 12 Years of age. 

We  meet in the Butler community centre, John’s Park, every Thursday night from 7 to 8 pm.

Foróige clubs Warriors and Outrage Foróige clubs for boys and girls age 10 to 18 are now open for new members, from all across Waterford, every Thursday in the Butler Community Centre, St. John’s Park.

Activities for Warriors, 10-12 year olds, include arts and crafts, games, day trips and lots more. Fun from 7 – 8pm. 

Outrage Foroige  ages 13 + Activities include sports, weekends away, games , and community work from 8pm - 9:30pm.

Young Waterford Playwright Award 2025 

Applications are now open for the Waterford Young Playwright 2025 award valued at €2500 for a young playwright aged between 15 - 30. 

Applicants must have either been born or are living in Waterford or have some connection to the city or county. 

Applicants will be invited to submit a ten-page extract from an existing play, along with an outline for a new work and an indication of how the award would benefit them in their pursuit of a playwriting career. 

The award will be administered by the Ted and Mary O’Regan Arts Bursary and the closing date for receipt of submissions is Friday, October 31 at 5pm. For further details.

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre is running a nine week Free Online Parents Plus Early Years Programme For parents of children aged 0-7 years of age, this will be Online in the evening from 7-9pm on evening a week.
