The death sadly occurred on Thursday, August 22, of Mr Frank Ryan, College Mews, The Folly, Waterford, and formerly of Priory Lawn, Ballybeg, Waterford and Ruskie, Roscommon. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his loving sons Kevin and Pat, daughters Michelle, Clare and Laura, Kevin’s partner Aimee, Pat’s partner Sharon, son-in-law Sean, grandchildren Clodagh, Adam, Zoe, Alana, Saoíse, Lucy and Alex, brothers Jim, Gerald, Dermot, Kevin and John, sister Maura, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Frank will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Wednesday, August 28, at 10 am in St. Saviour's Church, Ballybeg, followed by burial in Kilbarry Cemetery. Condolences are extended to Frank's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
The death sadly occurred on Wednesday, August 28, of Eleanor Power, St. John's Park, Waterford and late of Tesco, Ballybeg, Waterford. A loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend she was predeceased by her loving mother Dina. She is survived by her loving father Jim, daughter Katie and son Kyle, brothers John and Frank, her sister Gemma, sisters-in-law Karen and Siobhan, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Eleanor will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends, Requiem Mass took place on Saturday, August 31, in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, Waterford, at 11am, followed by burial in St Otteran's Cemetery, Ballinaneeshagh, Cork Road, Waterford. Condolences are extended to Eleanor's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The Children’s Liturgy group will resume on Sunday, September 1, at the 11.30am Mass. Children’s Liturgy is a structured time during Mass where children of primary school age are invited to the parish centre, under the supervision of the children’s liturgy team of adults, to reflect on the scripture readings of the day at a language and comprehension level that is suitable for their age group.

Waterford Shotokan Karate beginners classes are starting now in Butler Community Centre. We Teach Traditional Shotokan Karate self defense, respect, leadership skills, confidence building, self discipline and it develops character. Waterford Older People’s Council will hold its Annual General Meeting in the Mary Strangman (Large Room) at City Hall, Waterford, on Wednesday, September 18. All are invited to the event which will take place from 2pm to 4pm. It will be chaired by the Older People’s Council Executive, Susan O’Connor and addressed by the Ombudsman, Ger Deering. The Solas Run and Walk for Life will return in October to the streets of Waterford City and Dungarvan. The event will take place in Dungarvan on Saturday, October 12, and in Waterford City on Sunday, October 13.
The 10K Run and Walk in Dungarvan will start at 10am at Walton Park while the event in Waterford City will begin, the following day, on the Quay. A new 4K family walk has been added to both Waterford and Dungarvan this year to encourage families to take part in tandem with the 10K routes. The popular virtual option is also available and workplaces are being encouraged to once again #GoOrangeForSolas. Registration is open online at www.solascentre.ie. The registration fee is €25 per adult and €15 per child. This fee includes a t-shirt and an event medal, kindly sponsored by Eirgen Pharma.

It will begin on October 2, and will take place from 10am to 12.30pm, one morning a week. A free support progamme for parents of children experiencing anxiety will be running in Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, Waterford, from Friday, September 13. The programme will run one morning a week from 9.30am to 11.30am. This programme will be facilitated by a Creative Arts Therapist in a confidential space. The Shy Project, Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service, are seeking volunteers, (one to two hours weekly commitment), to join their Homework Club. The club offers homework support for primary school boys on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
