Local Notes: Coffee morning, soccer success and a successful market
Stradbally Div 2 champions. They will represent Waterford in the John West Feile GAA tournament.
A fundraising bake sale and coffee morning will take place on Saturday, July 6, from 10am to 1pm at St James National School, Stradbally (X42HN63).

Congratulations to the successful U15 Feile team from Stradbally on their great win at Rosenallis, Co Laois, on Saturda, June 22. The results were Stradbally 3-13 Rathdowney (Laois) 0-3. A memorable day for the team, their coaches, mentors, parents and their club.
The U11 C squad had a fantastic finish to their first season playing schoolboy league recently when they travelled to Graun Park, Tramore and beat Carrick Utd 4-0 to win the Joe Goulding Cup Final.
Congratulations and well done to all involved. On Sunday evening it was the turn of the U15C team who once again travelled to Graun Park, Tramore, for a 5pm throw-in and emerged victorious with a Stradbally 2-0 Tramore scoreline in the FC Cup Final.
Stradbally FC will have to buy a bigger cabinet for their clubhouse to hold all this silverware coming their way. After an outstanding effort, it was with great pride Captain Aiden Breen collected the Waterford FC Trophy on behalf of the squad. A big congratulations to the team, their coach, mentors parents and followers and club.
With a fine morning, the market was back on the Square last Saturday. The shoppers were spoilt for choice with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, homebaking, fancy buns jams, marmalade, apple juice, knitwear, cards and prints for sale. Teas, coffees and scones were available at the Cove Bar and 99's were flying out the door of the XL Store with those heading for the Cove.
