The death has sadly occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, of Mr Matt (Matthew) Kennelly, Faithlegg, Co. Waterford.
Formerly of Dublin and late of the ESB. He is survived by his loving wife Maureen, his sisters Eilis and Eithne, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his brother Tadhg and his sisters Irene and Nuala.
Matthew will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family and friends. Requiem Mass took place in St. Nicholas’ Church, Faithlegg, Co. Waterford, on Wednesday, December 3, at 1pm.
Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Joan will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Funeral mass took place on Saturday, December 6, at 1:30pm in St Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, Waterford City, and burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, Waterford.

First Children’s Carol Service:
We are delighted to host our first-ever Children’s Carol Service on Wednesday, December 17, at 7.30 pm in SS Joseph & Benildus Church.
Through Scripture readings and much-loved carols, our children will lead us in preparing for the birth of Jesus.
All families are warmly welcome to join us for this new parish tradition.
Advent Lectio Divina, St. Joseph and St. Benildus Parish Centre, Thursday evenings, December 4, 11 and 18, 2025 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Your kindness and generosity enabled us to gift 35 Christmas bags last year.

Items can also be dropped into the Parish shop between 11am-2pm.

Children’s Liturgy Group is recruiting new leaders to support our present team.
What is the Children’s Liturgy Mass? It is making the Word of God more accessible to children in an age appropriate Mass, allowing them to participate more fully in Mass.
Suitable for children of preschool & primary school age.
Why do we need leaders? To keep the Children’s Liturgy Mass running weekly, we cannot do this without the help of new leaders.
When is Children’s Liturgy Mass? Sunday 10am Mass at St. Benildus & St Joseph’s.
Who are the present leaders?
We consist of parents/guardians/grandparents and are fully vetted by the parish. If you are interested in keeping the Children’s Mass up and running to support families attending Mass with young children, please contact the parish office for further information or speak to any of the leaders after Mass.
Coffee Morning Every Wednesday morning immediately after 10.30 am Mass at St. Joseph & Benildus Church.
Everyone is welcome to attend. No booking required, just show up. We hope to see some new faces.
