Dunmore Road Bereavements

The death sadly occurred on Friday, March 8, of Mrs. Mary Brady (née: O’Connell), Maypark Village, Dunmore Road, Waterford. Formerly of Brady’s Bar, St. John’s Park and Ardmore, Co. Waterford. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and sister, she was predeceased by her loving daughter Joan. 

She is survived by her loving husband John, daughters Mary and Susan, sons Philip, Declan and John, sons-in-law Billy, George and John, daughters-in-law Suzanne and Claire. grandchildren Brendan, Daniel, Harrison, Cathal, Ronan, Rachel, Bronagh, Robyn, John, Alex, Alacoque, Joe, Decky and Jonah, brothers Donal and Pat, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and her dearest friends. Mary will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and dear friends. 

Requiem Mass took place in The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, on Tuesday, March 12, at 1 pm followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner. 

Condolences are extended to Mary family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace Bereavement The death sadly occurred on Saturday, March 9, of Mrs. Teresa O'Callaghan (nee: Griffin) Riverview, Waterford and formerly of Limerick. Predeceased by her loving husband Eugene. She is survived by her loving sons Eugene, Diarmuid and loving daughter Niamh. Sister Brigid, daughters-in-law Oonagh and Fiona, son-in-law Brendan, grandchildren Eugene (and Ellie), Hugh, David, Katie, Emer, Aoife, Kenneth and Sean, great grandchildren Winnie and Eugene and by her extended family and friends. Teresa will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place in St Mary's Church, Ballygunner on Tuesday, March 12, at 10am, followed by burial in Mount St Lawrence Cemetery, Limerick. Condolences are extended to Teresa family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Charity fundraiser

Down Syndrome Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch 

We are delighted to announce that our official launch day for our Sunny South East Cycle 2024 will be taking place on April 6, in City Square Waterford. In aid of Down Syndrome Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch, the initiative will feature a static cycle with continuous cycling for six hours. Pop in to show your support and meet our special guest, Waterford hurler, Dessie Hutchinson. If you would like to book a slot on the bike please contact 051 323100.

‘A Place to Heal' Art Exhibition 

'A Place to Heal' art exhibition by Mary Whelan will be held in The Book Centre, Waterford, on Friday, March 22, at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Coffee Morning 

A coffee morning is held every Wednesday at 11am in St Joseph & St. Benildus Parish Centre. After 10.30am mass, join us a cup of tea and a chat. All are very welcome to attend.

Draughts Club 

A draughts club for adults takes place in Ardkeen Library on Thursdays at 10.30am. All are welcome to attend.

St Brigid’s Charity Shops 

St Brigid’s Charity Shops urgently need good quality clothes and shoes for all the family. Drop off available at the Westgate shop (X91YA06) and there is free parking. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.45pm and on Saturday, from 10am to 4.45pm. All monies raised from the shops are used for the continued funding of services at St Brigid’s FRC supporting families in Waterford city and surrounds.

Greyhound Race fundraiser 

Williamstown Community Childcare Centre is holding a Greyhound Race fundraiser on the Saturday, May 4, Kilcohan Park. Gates are open at 7pm and the first race is at 7.30pm. There will be a raffle on the night. Tickets, priced €10, can be bought at their premises or on Eventbrite. The price includes admission and race card with children under 16 getting in free.
