Local Notes: Care home fundraiser, parent hub and charity bingo

A 'Growing Microgreens at Home' workshop will take place in Waterford's Central Library on Friday, July 26, from 10.30am to 12.30pm
The death sadly occurred on Friday, July 5, of Mr. James (Jim) Fitzgerald, The Folly, Waterford, and late of the ESB. He is predeceased by his loving parents May and Joe, his brothers Andy, Joe and Pat, his brother-in-law Dennis (Sinnott) and son-in-law Owen (Lloyd). He is sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, treasured father of Brian, Eoin, Jim, Katherine, Una and David, grandchildren Criostoir, Enya, Niamh, Ciara, Liam, Daisy and David, daughters-in-law Laura, Carmel and Malena, son-in-law Daniel. Loved and remembered by his sisters Maura, Lena, Una and Anne, his brother Maurice, brothers-in-law Bobby, Terry and Matt, sisters-in-law Vera and Betty, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Requiem mass took place on Tuesday, July 9, in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Mary’s cemetery, Ballygunner. Condolences are extended to James' family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bingo will be held every Monday evening in aid of the Parkinson's Association in the Butler Community Centre. Eyes down at 7.45pm, €8 per book. All are welcome.

This is a space for you and your baby to come to access supports from HSE midwives, paediatrician, lactation consultant, woman's health physio, perinatal mental health midwife, along with one of the most important things for a new mum, a connection to other new mums who have also welcomed a new arrival and may be looking to connect with other mums for support.
