The death sadly occurred on Sunday, Auguat 18, of Mr. Bernard O’Keeffe, Ballinaboola, Halfway House, Co Waterford and formerly of Waterford County Council. Predeceased by his loving wife Esther and his sister Rena, he is survived by his loving children Dolores, Noel and Darren, grandchildren Jacinta, Lisa, Colm, Gillian and Sinéad, grandchildren Cara, Daithí, Ben, Pennie, Saoirse, Fionn and Senan, sister Phylis (Condon), brothers Hugh and Brian, son-in-law Michael, daughters-in-law Caroline and Sandy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Bernard will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, August 22, in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Condolences are extended to Bernard's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan, loving father of Jane, Nick and Anna, his sisters Eve, Clare and Eily, his extended family, neighbours and friends. Stephen will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. A celebration of Stephen's life took place on Friday, August 23, in St Patrick's Gateway, Patrick Street, Waterford, at 11am. Private cremation will take place at a later date. We are seeking play volunteers to support children and young people in Waterford University Hospital. As you can imagine, hospital can be a scary and stressful time, so our volunteers provide a space for fun and give them a positive experience. The Solas Cancer Support Centre’s Run and Walk for Life returns to the streets of Waterford City on Sunday, October 13, and Dungarvan’s Greenway on Saturday, October 12. The 10K Run and Walk in Dungarvan will begin at 10am on Saturday, October 12, at Walton Park. The 10k Run and Walk on Sunday 13, in Waterford City, will begin at 10am on the quay. A new 4K family walk has been added to both Waterford and Dungarvan to encourage families to take part in tandem with the 10K routes. The popular virtual option will also be available and workplaces are being encouraged to once again #GoOrangeForSolas. Registration is open online at www.solascentre.ie. The registration fee is €25 per adult and €15 per child. This fee includes a t-shirt and an event medal, kindly sponsored by Eirgen Pharma.

Waterford Libraries is delighted to again bring a series of free Writing Workshops to the people of the Déíse. The programme will run from now until mid-December and will give participants an opportunity to attend courses in both Irish and English. The courses are free of charge and open to people over 18 years, resident anywhere in the county. Application forms are also available at library desks.
Board Game Saturdays at Central Library take place each Saturday morning from 10am to 12noon. All are welcome to attend and those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
A Baby and Me Group meets on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12noon in Ardkeen Library. Children under 12 years must be accompanied and supervised in the library by a parent or guardian. Everyone is welcome to drop in.
