Birthday Corner

A very happy 70th birthday is wished to Frances Higgins, Clonard park who celebrated her birthday with her family recently. Birthday wishes come to Frances from her husband James, her son and daughters and all her grandchildren and her many friends.

A very happy birthday is wished to a very popular lady Vera Murphy, Glencarra who celebrated her birthday during the week. Birthday wishes come to Vera from all her family and friends.

Church Funds

St Saviour's are holding their Annual Christmas raffle again this year. As always, we are looking for items to help fill the Christmas Hampers. Any items you can donate will be gratefully received in the Parish Office. First prize is a large Christmas hamper, second prize is a large Christmas cake and third prize is a small Christmas Hamper. There will also be many other prizes. Tickets will be on sale from Sunday, November 1, for €2 each or three for €5. The raffle will take place Sunday, December 17. All proceeds of the raffle go towards the upkeep of the church. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Little Saints

St Saviour's GAA Little Saints meet every Saturday morning from 11am to 12pm. The sessions are aimed at boys and girls from 5 years to 8 years. Sessions take place on Mondays and Fridays from 5.45pm to 6.45pm for those aged 8 to 13. All are welcome especially all from Ballybeg and the surrounding areas of Meadowbank, Foxwood, Carraige-an-Aird and Templars Hall.

Southend FC

Southend FC run their academy for the little ones on Friday nights from 6pm to 7pm. All are welcome and the cost is €2.

Deepest sympathy to the Cummins family on the death of Vickey Cummins, Clonard Park and Sandyford, Dublin who died on Tuesday, October 8. Funeral details later.

Check In On Neighbours

As the nights are getting darker please look in at your elderly neighbours and see if they are ok.

St Saviour's Parish News

The St Saviours Parish Shop is open each weekday Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 12pm. Mass can be booked at these times. Baptism takes place every Sunday at 12pm and one weeks’ notice is required. Mass times are comprised of: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am and there is no Mass on Wednesday. Mass on Sunday is celebrated at 8.30am, 11am and 5.30pm. Fr Grant PP is available after mass on Sunday to accept mass bookings or offerings for mass. For marriage, three months’ notice is required. 

Care of the Sick and Elderly

If you have a relative or neighbour who is ill at home or in hospital, please let us know. The Parish Shop is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 12pm for candles certs and mass cards. Sympathies

Deepest sympathy to the Collins family on the death of a much loved son and brother Daniel (Danky) Collins, Larchville and Killmallock, Limerick, who died at UHW surrounded by his loving family and friends on October 3. His remains lay in repose at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, October 9, followed by burial in St Otteran's Cemetery, Ballineesagh. Predeceased by his grandfather’s Tom and Jimmy, Daniel will sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Linda and John (Pat), his brother Craig Linda’s partner Paul, Craig’s partner Ciara, nephews Dylan and Harry, his grandmothers Ann Gleeson and Ann Collins, aunts uncles, cousins, all his extended family and friends, especially his cherished dog Marley.

Mass Times

Mass takes place at 10am on Friday and Sunday at 10am, in Butlerstown church. Mass in St Paul's Church takes place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am. Saturday Vigil Mass is at 6pm and Sunday Mass is celebrated at 8.30am and 11.30am.

Folk Group

The folk group practices in the Church on Wednesdays at 7.30pm. Please feel free to come along.

My Vibe Programme

The Millennium Youth Project have a creative hub for young people in the Lisduggan/Larchville, Manor St John and the surrounding areas. This will include activities to support young people’s mental health. Places are limited and if interested please contact Roseanne or Ciara for any information or questions you might have on 086 609314.

Tarsus Scripture School

Dr Jessie Rogers will speak about the Psalms and if they have meaning in our lives today. These talks are based on the recorded lectures at The Tarsus Scripture Summer School 2024. All lectures followed by tea and a chat. All are welcome and no special knowledge is required. We are all sharing a journey together.

Centre Reopening

St Paul's Parish Centre will reopen next Wednesday, October 16, for tea, coffee and chat after 10am Mass. It is looking clean and bright after a new paint job. Such a wonderful resource for our parish and community. 

Birthday Corner

The Collins family, Larchville/Gracedieu, had great celebrations during the past week as Lola Grace and her mam, Catriona, both marked their birthdays together with family and friends. Have a very happy birthday both of you. Also best happy birthday wishes to Harry Collins, Manor St John, who is 7 this week. Have a brilliant birthday, Harry, as you are surrounded by all your family and friends. Aren't you lucky as Granny Teresa is making you one of her gorgeous cakes. Enjoy every minute.
