The death sadly occurred on Tuesday, April 22, of Mr. Patrick (Paddy) Hearne, 404 Kennedy Row, St. John’s Park, Waterford and formerly of Costelloe's Lane and late of Hearne's Butchers, the Manor, and Raytex. Predeceased by his loving wife May, brothers Bobby, John and Danno, son-in-law Noel, he is survived by his loving children Pat, Margaret, Noel and Brian, their partners Orla, Liam, Dorothy and Marcella, grandchildren Yvonne, Thomas, Ryan, Natalie, Steven, Andrew, Sophie, Noel, Patrick, Tony, Saoirse and Richard, great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jack, Ruby, Jamie, Aaron, Fiadh and Kai, brother Billy, sisters-in-law Nancy, Breda and Kitty, brother-in-law Paddy, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Patrick will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family neighbours and friends. Requiem mass took place on Friday, April 25, in The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly at 2pm, followed by burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery. Condolences are extended to Patrick's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
The death sadly occurred on Monday, April 21, Mr. Thomas (Tommy) Gleeson Tir Connell Avenue, Lismore Lawn, Waterford and formerly of St. John's Park, Waterford and late of Waterford Crystal. Predeceased by his loving father Austin and mother Kathleen, he is survived by his loving son, Derek and daughter, Kate, his partner Iris, sister Mary, brothers Anthony and Austin, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Tina and Trish, his nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Thomas will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his loving parents Billy and Molly, brother Michael, sister Margo, nephew Owen and niece Stacey he is survived by his loving partner Helen, children Jason, Liam, Vanessa, Marianne, Louise, Jamie, Rebecca and their mother Mary, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Liam will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family neighbours and friends. The Big Sing Waterford in aid of Assisi House will take place in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, on Friday, May 16, at 8pm. There will be a guest MC and soloist, Glenn Murphy, in addition to the combined Choirs of Waterford. It will be a non-ticketed concert, however, there will be a retiring collection on the night.
Waterford Women's Centre will be starting a nine-week Health & Wellbeing Programme on Tuesday mornings from May to the end of June. The ‘Waterford Wheels’ cycling challenge is having a launch event. Join us for an opening cycle commute on May 12, meeting at the Greenway Park & Cycle car park at Carriganore, in Waterford City (next to SETU Arena car park) at 8am. We will cycle the greenway, getting into the city for approximately 8.45am and then enjoy complementary hot drinks and snacks. 'Waterford Wheels' will take place as part of Bike Week which will run from May 10 to 18. All you have to do is see how many cycle commutes you can make during the dates above The organisations that log the highest numbers of cycling trips will come out on top, It is open to staff and students of workplaces/learning institutions across Waterford.
