It's that time of the year again when the Shy Centre is holding our bingo fundraiser on Tuesday, April 1. You can get your tickets here from the Shy Centre or call Tracey on 086 1831555 or Lesley on 086 8589871. Tickets are €10 each and €5 per ticket sale goes directly to the Shy project for the young people to take part in programmes and activities throughout the year. If anyone is in a position to donate a prize for the raffle, we would be ever so grateful Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

Golden Girls aerobics Fitness takes place in Butler Community Centre on Mondays from 10.15am to 11am. The price is €6 (pay as you) and the circuit training is aimed at all levels and includes exercises to increase strength and improve coordination. Fitness and memory retention in fun non-intimidating environment. On Wednesday from 11am to 11.45am chair exercise class: low impact fitness class geared to active adults 50 and over. A great class for those who wants to improve bone density, cardio fitness, balance to stay strong, mobility and independence. On Fridays from 11am to 11.45am Gentle Pilates: class combines very gentle mat Pilates exercises for over 50’s who want to develop core strength, find relief from tight muscles and back pain. As part of our community initiatives, Waterford FC have re-launched their weekly Over-50s Walking Football programme in Butler Community Centre. Taking place every Thursday from 11am until 12pm, our Over-50’s Walking Football is open to everyone keen on getting their football fix on a Thursday morning. Along with the Walking Football, Waterford FC are grateful for the Blues Supporters Club, who have kindly sponsored refreshments for after each walking football session, where all participants can relax socially together. It’s a great opportunity to play a game of football with a good group of people and have the social element afterwards, with refreshment’s kindly sponsored by the Blues Supporters Club. Whist Club (card game) at the Butler Centre, St. John's Park, is changed to Wednesday’s at 7pm. They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome €5 per person.
Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre will be running a free Parents Plus Early Years Programme, starting on April 29. This is an evening programme and will run from 6.45pm to 9pm for eight weeks, one evening a week. Building yours child’s confidence, learning and positive behavior, improving your family’s health and wellbeing, reducing your stress as a parent. Problem solving with your child and becoming closer each programme is run with a small group of parents by a trained facilitator.
