Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Thursday, August 8, of Mr John Nigrini, Cahernane House, Ballytruckle, Waterford. Formerly of South Africa and late of the Royal Oak, Mooncoin and Newtown School. Predeceased by his loving parents he is survived by his loving life partner, Lyudmyla, his work colleagues and his friends. John will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives and friends. John's remains reposed in Tom Hennessy's Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, with removal on Tuesday, August 13, at 11.30am to St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner for burial on arrival. Condolences are extended to John's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Saturday, August 10, of Mrs Margaret (Peggy) Murphy (née: O’Connor), 27 The German Road, Saint John’s Park and formerly of Saint Ursula’s Terrace, Waterford. Predeceased by her loving husband James, mother Nancy and father John, brother Teddy and sister Ann and daughter-in-law Susan, she is survived by her loving children Anthony, Albert, Clifford, Jim and Brian, daughters-in-law Tina, Jackie and Mandy, her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Margaret will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, August 15, at 12 noon, in The Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, followed by burial immediately afterwards in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner. Condolences are extended to Margaret's (Peggy) family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Bereavement Support Group

The South East Regional Family Support Network bereavement support group provides a safe space for family members who have experienced the death of a loved one because of problem substance use or related issues. The group is facilitated by two trained psychotherapists and will include respite and other opportunities that may be relevant. This is a free service specific to the South East Regional Family Support Network. Commencing on Tuesday, August 27, from 10.30am to 12noon it will continue for eight weeks, at the Millennium Building, Church Road, Lisduggan, Waterford (X91 FN5V). Car Boot Sale

We are pleased to announce that the Butlerstown Community Centre that our Car Boot Sale takes place on the last Saturday of every month from 11.30am to 3.30pm in the centre in St John’s Park, Ballytruckle, Waterford (X91 FEP4). Whist Club

The Whist Club (card game) takes place at the Butler Community Centre, St. John's Park,  on Tuesday’s at 7.30pm. They would love to see all their old players and new players would be most welcome. The cost is €5 per person.

Parent Hub

Are you a new mum or have you just had a baby? HSE Ireland have established a Post Natal group for mams and babies. This is a space for you and your baby to come to access supports from HSE midwife, paediatrician, lactation consultant, woman's health physio, perinatal mental health midwife along with one of the most important things for a new mum, a connection to other new mums who have also welcomed a new arrival and may be looking to connect with other mothers for support. The group meets every Wednesday from 9am to 11am in Brill Family Resource Centre. Drop in at any stage between those times or text or call Grace beforehand on 087 1819413.

Creative Writing

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, Waterford, would love you to join us for our Creative Writing Programme starting on Thursday, September 12, for 10 weeks. The programme will take place from 11am to 1pm. This programme is free to attend and is funded by WWETB Adult & Community Education, facilitated by writer and musician, Derek Flynn. Volunteers Needed

Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service, are seeking volunteers, able to give one to two hours weekly commitment, to join their Homework Club. The club offers homework support for primary school boys on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. This is an opportunity to develop relationships with the younger generation in your community and make a positive impact on their lives.
