Pickleball is the fastest rising game among the over 65's
The death sadly occurred on Sunday, May 5, of Raphael O’Brien. St. John’s Park, Waterford and formerly of Waterford Crystal. Predeceased by his loving parents James and Ellen, and his brothers and sisters, he is survived by his loving wife Hannah, sons Patrick and Glenn, daughter Cathy, grandchildren Jack, Sarah, Shane, Charley and Tommy, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Alison, sisters Ursula and Angela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Raphael will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, extended family, friends and neighbours. Requiem Mass took place on Wednesday, May 8, in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, followed by burial in St. Nicholas' Church Cemetery, Ballyduff Lower, Kilmeaden. Condolences are extended to Raphael's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Butler Community Centre is hosting beginners Pickle Ball (trainer in situ). Pickleball is an indoors racket sport, a cross between tennis and badminton but slower. It’s the fastest growing sport in over 65’s apparently. For further information call 051 876907.
A Whist Club takes place at the Butler Centre, St. John's Park on Tuesday’s at 7.30pm.They would love to see all their old players go along and new players are always welcome. The cost is €5 per person.
Shotokan Karate classes for beginners are beginning in Butler Community Centre, St. Johns Park, Waterford (X91 FEP4). We teach traditional Shotokan Karate self defense and all ages are welcome. The classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm.

To mark World Inflammatory Bowel Disease Day, Crohn’s and Colitis Ireland is hosting a major national conference for people with the condition. Featuring talks on relationships, as well as eating well with IBD, the in-person event will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, May 19, and will also be live streamed. Registration is now open for sustainable crafting classes which will be taking place in the Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, Waterford.
