The late Helen Flynn

The death sadly occurred on Sunday, June 29, of Mrs. Helen Flynn née Cahill, late of Ballytruckle Court, Waterford, formerly of Church Road, Dungarvan. Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick, daughter Carmel, mother Ellen, father Augustus, sisters and brothers. She is survived by her loving daughter Mary, sons Pat and John, grandchildren Melanie, Tracie, Derek, Mark, Jason and her grandchildren in London, great-grandchildren Megan, Ceili, Alexandra and Helen, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Helen will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place in the Holy Family Church, Luke Wadding Street on Wednesday, July 2, at 12.00pm, followed by burial afterwards in St. Otteran’s Cemetery, Ballinaneeshagh. Condolences are extended to Helen's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Bereavement Group

The South East Regional Family Support Network Bereavement Group provides a safe space for family members who have experienced the death of a loved one because of problem substance use or related issues. The group is facilitated by two trained psychotherapists and will include respite and other opportunities that may be relevant. This is a free service specific to the South East Family Support Network. Commencing on Tuesday, August 26, from 10:30am to 12:00pm, it will continue for eight weeks at the Millennium Building, Church Road, Lisduggan. Assisi House 

Assisi House is a day centre located at Airmount, Dominic Place, Waterford city. We are currently open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 4pm. We provide tea, coffee, snacks, a two-course lunch, afternoon tea and entertainment such as music, bingo, quizzes, arts and crafts etc. We also offer low-cost hairdressing, chiropody and reflexology services. Auricular Acupuncture Clinics

These take place at SHY Centre, St. John’s Park, 051 876468, 087 6394065, from 5pm-6pm, on Mondays, cost €5. The benefits of Auricular Acupuncture have been proven to be efficient at reducing stress and promoting detox. Regulars also report a whole host of other benefits such as pain relief. Clinics are run in a group setting, there is no need to book. When you arrive, you will be invited to sit down and fill out a consent form. The worker will explain the treatment. The worker will place five sterilised needles into the outer shell of each ear at specific points. You then sit back and relax for forty minutes listening to nice music in a room surrounded with candles. Why not come along and give it a go.

Central Library Monster Doodle

Monster Doodle at Central Library - colour in and create your own creatures as part of Central Libraries Monster Doodle craft event, running every Saturday for the month of July, from 10am to 1pm for Children of all ages. All children under 12 must have a parent or guardian with them.

Parents Plus

Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre Waterford are running an online Parents Plus Early Years Programme. We are taking names for an expression of interest at the moment with a time and date to be set at a later stage. If you or anyone you know would be interested please ring 051 306728.
