Last week visitors from New Zealand caught up with their old neighbours, friends and colleagues. They were Alan Symes and his sister Eithne Potts (Symes) and her daughter Hannah. The family formerly lived at Knockrour, Stradbally and emigrated to New Zealand 37 years ago. They saw many changes in Stradbally and visited all the well known landmarks including the Copper Coast and Comeraghs. They also attended a school's reunion at Newtown School in Waterford. We hope they enjoyed their visit and reunion.
It was a bonus to have another outside market on Saturday in bright sunshine. At this time of the year the shoppers are mostly local as most of the visitors have gone. The producers were out bright and early with tables full of fresh fruit and veg, jams, marmalade, home baking, scones, breads, tarts, Eabha had her fancy buns for sale and was in a shade under a tree. Colette is busy getting ready for her 2025 Calendar which I am sure will be ready for Christmas and an ideal gift for family or friends. Richard was busy providing coffee and tea for all the shoppers. You can preorder any of the above by calling Margaret on 087 6337215 just drop by and pick up. They will be back to do it all again next Saturday.
