Deepest sympathy to John Power, Ballybeg Square, and all the Power family on the death of a much loved father grandfather, great grandfather and brother Thomas (Tom) Power, Belvedere Drive, who died on Saturday, June 8. Late of Clover Meats and O’Keeffe’s, Tom was a lovely gentleman who always had a word and a smile for you when you met him. He was a popular taxi driver, and he will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Tom's funeral will take place privately.
Predeceased by his wife Kathleen, his son Nicky, parents Joanie and Nicholas, his brothers Pa and Billy, he is survived by his daughters Bernie and Anne, his sons Stephen and Eddie, his 11 grandchildren, his 6 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law , daughters-in-law, brothers Nicko, John and Stephen, sisters Nellie, Chrissie, May, Nancy and Kathy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
A very happy birthday is wished to Laura Murphy, Gracedieu, who celebrated her birthday on Thursday, June 20. Birthday wishes come to Laura from all her family, especially her godfather Tom Murphy, Templars Hall.
A very happy 18th birthday is wished to Boyan Bojanic, Templars Hall, who celebrates his big day on Monday, June 17. Birthday wishes come to him from his mam and dad, his sister Melizza, his brother Miczla, Sandra and his niece, Draca, in Serbia, and his many friends.
Southend FC academy for boys and girls aged 5 to 7 years takes place every Saturday at 2pm.
Why not bring your child along and see if they would like to play soccer. The cost is €2.
St Saviour's GAA club meets every Saturday from 11am to 12pm in St Saviours GAA. Boys and Girls aged between 5years and 8 years are welcome and hurleys and helmets are supplied. Children from Ballybeg and the surrounding area are very welcome.
Deepest sympathy to Chrissie Evoy, Ballybeg Square and all the Whelan family on the death of their brother Joseph (Joe) Whelan, Barrack Street, who died on Sunday, June 9. Formerly of Waterford Crystal. Joe died peacefully surrounded by his family in UHW. His remains lay in repose at Thompson's Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11, with vigil prayers and rosary.
His cortege walked from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 12, passing his residence on route to Ballybricken Church for Requiem Mass followed by burial in Butlerstown Cemetery. Predeceased by his parents Mary and James, his brother Jim and niece Sandra, he is survived by his brother David, his sisters Eily, Hartery, Anne Whelan, and Chrissie Evoy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
We had a wonderful turn out for the blessing of graves in Kilbarry Cemetery on Sunday, June 9. Well done to all who organised it.
Mass times in St Saviour's Church are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10am. Sunday at 8.30am, 11am and 5.30pm. Baptism takes place at 12pm each Sunday and to arrange please contact the Parish Office and a weeks’ notice must be given.
